VISIÓN FOTOGRÁFICA Y LENGUAJE VISUAL



Poco a poco, algunos fotógrafos y fotógrafas van entendiendo la importancia de éste nuevo curso, que desde hace algunos meses vengo impartiendo por todo el país.

No hablamos de cámaras, ni de programas de edición, ni de técnicas maravillosas que estilizan nuestras imágenes.

Nos centramos únicamente en la verdadera esencia de la fotografía, en intentar reflexionar y comprender de que va todo esto del proceso de la visión fotográfica, porqué unos la tienen y otros ni tan siquiera la conocen.

Aprendemos a construir fotografías y a utilizar el lenguaje visual en ellas. Un lenguaje que nos permita transmitir aquello que vemos y aquello que sentimos.

Un curso que ya ha suscitado el interés de mucha gente, que ha hecho cambiar el concepto que muchos fotógrafos y fotógrafas tenían de la fotografía.

IZMIR: A LEGACY FOR TOMORROW



A lo largo del pasado año, doce fotógrafos de diversos países del mundo, fuimos invitados por el ARKAS SANAT MERKEZI de la ciudad turca de IZMIR, para formar parte de un proyecto denominado: IZMIR: A LEGACY FOR TOMORROW.

El proyecto consistía en la documentación fotográfica de los diversos aspectos sociales, culturales, antropológicos, étnicos, arquitectónicos y humanos de la ciudad de Izmir, situada en la costa oeste de Turquía, a orillas del mar Egeo y con más de cuatro millones de habitantes.


La variedad étnica y la multiculturalidad de los diversos barrios que rodean el centro más moderno de la ciudad (Balçova, Basmane, Karsiyaka, Kadifekale, Kemeralti, Konak, ...), y donde conviven los propios habitantes turcos con sirios, kurdos, griegos, o judíos; permitían sin lugar a dudas, infinitas posibilidades fotográficas para mostrar una ciudad abierta al futuro, donde se hacía patente la mezcla del misterio y el exotismo de oriente, con el joven y moderno ritmo de vida importado de occidente.


A lo largo de una semana, durante el pasado mes de Octubre de 2014, tuve la suerte de poder fotografiar el lado más humano de la ciudad, con la inestimable ayuda de Mr. Atilla Özdemir y Ms. Nilgün Özdemir, pudiendo aportar de esta manera mi participación en el proyecto. 



Finalmente, el próximo día 18 de Septiembre, tendrán lugar la inauguración de la exposición fotográfica, así como la presentación oficial del libro que configuran este proyecto.

Throughout last year, twelve photographers from different countries, were invited by the ARKAS SANAT MERKEZI, in the Turkish city of IZMIR, to participate in a project called: IZMIR: A LEGACY FOR TOMORROW.

The project consisted of the photographic documentation of the various social, cultural, anthropological, ethnic, architectural and human aspects of the city of Izmir, located on the west coast of Turkey on the Aegean sea and with more than four million inhabitants.

The ethnic diversity and multiculturalism in the various neighborhoods surrounding the modern city center (Balçova, Basmane, Karsiyaka, Kadifekale, Kemeralti, Konak, ...), and where live turkish inhabitants themselves with Syrians, Kurds, Greeks or Jews; allowed undoubtedly, endless photo to display a city open to the future, where the mix of mystery and exoticism of the Orient, with the young and modern stillife imported from the West, was evident possibilities.

During one week during October 2014, I was lucky enough to photograph the human aspects of the city, with the invaluable help of Mr. Atilla Özdemir and Ms. Nilgün Özdemir, can contribute in this way my participation in the project.

Finally, the next September 18th, will be the open of photo-exhibition, and the official presentation of the book that make up this project.
